MONDAY’S CUP OF MOTIVATION
The greater the risk, the greater the reward. We have heard this our entire lives. As we get older, we work to limit risks and surround ourselves with safety nets. We end up so encased in our nets that we fear risk and losing more than we embrace a challenge and growth. When we played athletics, remember that feeling we had on game day? Anticipation, fear, excitement. That knot in our stomach. There was nothing like competition. When we won, it was amazing. When we lost, we worked hard to improve for the next time. What was important was we gave it our all. We put ourselves out there and competed. Now that we have hung up our cleats and high tops, we don’t compete like we used to. Winning and losing are all part of sports. We win some and we lose some. Why are we so afraid of losing nowadays? We need to take chances and we need to complete. We will never get ahead if we don’t put ourselves out there and go for it once in a while. The more chances we take, the more chances we will won. We are guaranteed to not win if we don’t try. We get in our comfort zone and worry about what if something goes wrong. As the three C’s of life states, we must make a Choice to take a Chance or our life will never Change. It’s time to grow again. If we can put fear in its place and remember that life is short and we only live once, then we can build from there. We need to get out of our comfort zone and keep moving forward. Here’s to friendship, good health and prosperity. Now let’s get out there and compete. Have a phenomenal week!!
My Comfort Zone
I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn’t fail.
The same four walls and busywork were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.
I said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t doing much.
I said I didn’t care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.
I couldn’t let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I’d never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.
If you’re in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true. Reach for your future with a smile; success is there for you!
GREAT WORDS TO LIVE BY…
The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now.
Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made. If you want a different result, make a different choice.
Your “I Can” is more important than your IQ.
When we are 100, we will be elderly. Until then, we are young and hot.
Being positive does not mean the negative things in life do not exist. Being positive simply means overcoming the negativity you meet on your journey.
People who uplift you are the best kind of people. You don’t simply keep them. You have to treasure them.
Getting knocked down in life is a given. Getting up and moving forward is a choice!
This week, let’s make a Choice to take a Chance or our life will never Change!
